The Death of Bunny Munro : how much I love that book… :D

September 22, 2009

I read the book 4 months ago (I bought an uncorrected proof copy on eBay) and when I finished it, I didn’t know what to think of it. I liked it, but I think I didn’t really get it, I guess because I couldn’t help but picture the main character as Nick Cave. :?
Later, I read it again, and this time I got more into the story and I really, really loved it. :)

The Death of Bunny Munro

I’m a huge fan of Nick Cave (obviously  :D ) and this year I’ve finally had the opportunity to do something that I wanted to do for so long : follow him on tour. :) (even if it was just a tour of book signing/reading to promote his new novel).

Viva la poesia (Book + CD)

September 4, 2009

This book (acompanied by a CD) was published in 2002 in Austria.

cover

These are unique snapshots of three exceptional artists, under the significant title “viva la poesia”, published in the book and CD form by Residenz Verlag. 1993, 1995 and 1998, ALLEN GINSBERG, FALCO and NICK CAVE, under the theme “The Art of Songwriting” teached at the Vienna Poetry Academy to a small group of students in the context of classes, lectures, readings and concerts, presenting an intimate insight into their artistic characters and work.
The book documents this involvement not only in the various contributions of the teacher and educated, but captures the dense, poetic atmosphere of the poetic school life in countless pictures, stories, scenes and anecdotes.
The CD includes unreleased live versions (for example, NICK CAVES ‘masterpiece of love poetry, Into My Arms), one new song from CAVE, FALCO and GINSBERG school song and poetry with a title that has the first three artists are heard together.

The book also mentions the class teached by Blixa Bargeld in 1994.
